LOTS of GREAT NEWS, plus ONE NOT SO GREAT
The good weather anticipated with the coming of Spring took its time getting here, but indeed this May was a winner.  The roar of the engines was music to everyones' ears.  The school has lots of good news with staff, new students much progress, and a chief pilot in the wings.     And final plans are completed for the International Air Rally with much effort by many.
The downside of the month has been the prices of fuel which have increased exponentialy with each load.  Yes, we have broken the $5/gallon and are definitely not proud.  At press time the international market was down - let's hope it reaches us soon.
  CHIEF PILOT COMING SOON!!!
It is with much excitement and pleasure that we announce that Peter Rafle will become our Chief Flight Instructor, effective July 1st.

Our relationship with Pete goes back to 1994, when his wife, Connie, was a representative of US#1 and she would visit the airport regularly.  After she revealed Pete's wonderful aviation past, we immediately bonded, and she bought him some flying time for recurrent training at our suggestion.

Pete's military and airline experience was great, except we needed to get him reacquainted with the "small ones".  He worked his way back and earned the ratings to make him a much desired flight instructor.  After years of instructing part-time, Pete will be here a few days a week starting in July.  Many of you have taken your final progress check with Pete and you came out of that experience much better prepared for the FAA examiner.

 International Air Rally
At 39N on the 4th of July
The revised schedule for the International Air Rally's visit to 39N were made by the organizers and were out of our control.  The plan is for the participants to leave Niagara early on July 4th and fly down the New York corridor, assuming there are no TFRs.  They will then continue to Princeton, arriving about 11:00 a.m.  We will conduct a  "spot landing contest" for them.

The Princeton Airport Flying Tigers' Annual Picnic will double in size as our guests will participate in a traditional Independence Day Barbeque.  This will be your chance to meet pilots from other countries and see their craft.

So join the Tigers and help make this a great event.

Coolest Airplane of the Month

During May the airplane showed up on our ramp, and no one was able to ascertain its make.  Perhaps one of you aviation buffs can help us out.

WE HAVE INSTRUCTORS!!!
After many months where we had an extremely hard time hiring flight instructors, we are so happy to welcome to our staff the following:
Raj Chakranarayan, who is a CFII, MEI, and lots more.  Raj will be here six days a week.
Remember Jeff Gerencer, who left us about 8 months ago to fly Pilatuses - well he find his schedule open on Fridays and Saturdays, so we welcome him back as an Assistant Chief Pilot.
Constantine "Dean" Tzitzis, a CFII will be here five days a week for the summer, when he will return to college.
Hani "Danny" Hanna, CFII, will be here on Sundays to help us out.
Brian Lucas, who has done a great job, will be leaving on June 3rd to take a job with Express Jet.  Good luck.
And for those who have been asking about GiGi, she stopped by and is happily married.
We are sorry for the inconvenience so many of you have encountered when trying to schedule, however take advantage of this lovely weather, and move forward with you training, BFRs, or any other instruction you may need.

TSA UPDATE- Expiration Policy

Training requests will expire 545 days from the date of submission.  If your training expires, the training becomes invalid and training cannot continue.  Expired applicants cannot be reinstated.  Candidates must submit a new training request, even if you are training for the same certificate or type rating.
