There were few milestones during this dismal month, but you deserve a medal for hanging with us.

     It seems only yesterday that we were giving you updates on the runway construction project—and then it was finally over.  We followed up the outdoor improvements with concentration on the interior—new bathrooms, lobby floor and walls, and finally we got new desks and carpeting for the instructors in the classroom.  We’re ready for the season that never came.

     Last year we suffered through a draught, but many of you earned your licenses.  Poor flying weather in October was a sign of things to come, and come again.  A challenging winter grounded many of you, and we anxiously looked forward to spring.  “What spring?”  you ask.  The wettest in 100 years.  So years from now when you relay the story of how you got your license, you can relay to your grandkids that it rained!  When we finally saw the sun, George Bush couldn’t resist campaigning in the northeast and we had further restrictions.

     But as of this writing we actually have seen the sun and high temperatures—and with it came many familiar faces.  Welcome back.

     Have you checked out the hangar that is rising like a phoenix in the back.  It is 90% full, so this is your last call.

Congratulations, Airplane Owners!

Good luck to Mark Coleman, who has stepped up to a Saratoga.

Newsworthy Information:

·          Peter & Connie Rafle are the proud grandparents of a baby granddaughter.

·          During Princeton University we were visited by Raj Shah who got his Private Pilot’s license with us three years ago while finishing his senior year.  The skies were calling him and he is now flying F-16s in Arizona.

·          Mike Jardin, who is truly a 39N success story just completed Cornell and was hired by Comair.  Mike came here with his pre-school class; was our first e-mail customer; worked as a lineman;
earn his private, IRA, & commercial prior to entering college.  During intersession he got his CFI and instructed with the flying club for four years.  Good luck.

·          We have been seeking pilots who earned their wings at 39N for our Honor Roll on the website.  So far the earliest reported is Daniel Blitz who soloed and got his license in
1946.  He stopped by recently.

     Stormscopes, PGSs, autopilots, and more.  These are good investments as well as making your flying much more pleasurable.

     Do you need your two year IFR and/or transponder checks?

Check with Ken for upgrades—he can give you some good ideas.
