(Incorrectly reported last month.)

*On January 15, we all woke up to snow, slush, rain and a mess. Corey's hopes of soloing on his 16th birthday were fading fast. Late in the morning Dave came to the

airport to check things out here & with flight service. There was a remote chance of a clearing by mid afternoon. Dick manned the plow and the CFIs grabbed the brooms.

All hands were on deck for this momentous day, if it were to happen. Sure enough, Corey and his entourage arrived and he went flying with Dave. Soon a very large

smile came upon his face as he successfully completed the flight.

Regards from All Over...

Steve Menand, who's flying for Allegheny and lives in Ohio; Mikhail Broudnyi, who's chief pilot for ReFly in St. Petersburg, Russia, says "hi"; and welcome to Todd Preston, former CFI when we were at 39N, who now flies 767 for American.

Congratulations to Brian Zecher on the acquisition of your Cessna 340. Thank You, Robert H. Moore, Jr. for donating a series of WWII framed airplane prints which are now decorating the walls in the classroom. They are a lovely addition.

Welcome to Our Staff:

There will be several new faces behind the counter, so go gently folks. A hearty

welcome to Tamiko Jones & Rich Harding as new flight coordinators. Long time employee Jim Brame will be working part time on the weekend as he pursues other options. And Chuck Taylor will be freed up to instruct full time.

And Karen Kaplan will be leaving. We apologize for this disruption to her students, however Chief Pilot Chris Wilson assures continuity!

The Four Hour Engine Change:

The pits of the Indianapolis 500 can't hold a candle to the fantastic job the
