MAYText Box: Sad News-We have received word that Frank Rymsha Breivogel has died. For those who flew out of Kupper, he called himself, “Fat Frank”. Frank was an airport bum in the summer and a ski bum in the winter. He had a heart of gold.  Our sympathy is extended to his family.

Text Box: Fly Neighborly!

Many, Many Thanks

Since we moved to 39N in ‘85, Gladys Collazo has been a loyal employee.  About 12 + years ago, she started Action Lawn & Landscaping, yet she continued to come in to pay the bills and keep us legal.  Gladys has been grooming Laura Loy for the last year, so when her busy season begins, she can give it her full attention without worrying about ours.  Gladys continues to be a wonderful friend and we will miss her wonderful voice on the Unicom, saying “Princeton Unicom” with great pride.  We do know we can always call her in a pinch.

            Thanks!!!

Text Box: New Computer System
For the Flight School
We knew for years that our system needed upgrading, but it had been post-poned time and again. However John Watson, who has been keeping our computers going since ‘81, finally bit the bullet and we have been upgraded. We had no disruption of service to you, but we might take a little longer when writing up your charges.  Bear with us—we are learning daily.
Thank you, John, and Bill Sneary, for making the transition uneventful. You have done wonders.

Text Box: Congratulations to the Quanci Gang
for their pending purchase of a Ryan PT22 trainer, 1941 vintage. The senior Pete owned one in the ‘60s when we were at Kupper and sold it. But nostalgia got the best of them and we will soon have one based here. Good luck.

Text Box: Welcome to our Staff, CFII Dmitri Teplov, who is a full time instructor and ready for some flying weather.

Text Box: THE ADIZ IS OVER!
Rarely are we at a loss for words about the aviation industry’s peaks and valleys, but when the TSA ordered the 30 mile restriction, we were aghast. Aside from the economic impact, we could find no justifiable reason for such a decision, and we felt helpless.
Despite our years of experience, 2003 will not be forgotten quickly. The winter started early and continued longer than usual, so the aviation industry was already hurting.  Finally when flyable weather arrived, we were at war and the ADIZ was imposed. Pilots just stopped flying in the NY metropolitan area, so we can just wipe off the first 4 months of this year.  AOPA has been calling airports to find the economic impact. You don’t want to know.
Things are substantially better and the weather has improved. Pilots love this time of year which brings some of the prettiest flying weather. Enjoy!
And if your instructor gave up and moved on since you were last here, just give us a call and we will get you another CFI and get you back up in the air.

Text Box: The New Jersey Domestic Security
Preparedness Task Force
has ordered that all aircraft which are parked or stored at the aeronautical facility for more than a 24 hour period utilize a two-lock system which secures or disables the aircraft to prevent operation of the aircraft.
We have posted signs in windows and doors listing the many agencies who you can call if you see something unusual at the airport.
You, the pilots, are more informed  about what’s normal around our airport.  If you have any questions, speak with management.
