WOW!

More Congratulations to Stanley Ferber who earned a perfect score on the Flight Instructor Instrument Knowledge Test, as did Jeffery Koslov, who achieved the same score on the Private Pilot Knowledge Test.  Well done!!

A fond farewell to Gordon Tillson, who came to us in ’94 seeking his CFI certificate.  We watched him get married, have two wonderful boys, and get his CFII.  Gordon & Sabrina have moved to Huston where the opportunities are better with Continental.  We wish them the very best.  He did a great job.  We will all miss him.

 RUNWAY CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY AT 39N

Montgomery Township:

After years of meetings, lawsuits, confrontations, mediation, and enormous amounts of patience, the airport improvement project has finally begun.  39N will be a safer airport as we enter the 21st century.

Land acquisition was completed several months ago, and the construction equipment is out there churning up the dust.  (Sorry!)

The end results will be Runway 11-29; 3500’ long; 75’ wide; recessed lighting; and other amenities.  The current runway will receive an overlay and it will become a full length taxiway.  Ramp parking should be easier and the grid locks at the current intersections should disappear.  Completion date – ASAP!

Please use caution on the ground and in the air.  There are Notams – check them daily, as they will change.

Gabrielle & Jack have a baby brother –

James Orion Nierenberg

Born: July 20, 8:38 p.m.

7 pounds 6 ounces, 20 ½ inches

 It’s a Girl!

Emelynn Loy Sneary

Born to former coordinator Laura & husband, Bill

4th of July * 7 lbs. 10 oz., 20 ½ oz.

Princeton Airport’s Flying Tigers:

Over 50 members and guests enjoyed beautiful weather, good food and drink, plus an airplane piñata for the kids at the annual PAFT picnic on July 11.

Seven members endured a hazy flight to Block Island on the 18th, eating at the Harborside Inn.

Next FlyIn: August 15 to Newport State, RI.  (UUU – 167nm), ETA 11 a.m.  Tour the mansions.  Check the bulletin board to sign up & possibly take extra passengers or be one.

Kadoos to Dave Bostain for teaching the Instrument Class, and making it interesting.  The students great rave reviews and they are passing the awful computer test one by one.

To the students of Russ Robins, we apologize for his sudden departure – we are trying to get you reassigned as soon as possible.

For the Latest & the Greatest Avionics:

Check with Ken or Dick.  We can install this equipment.  We also have some used avionics if you are planning on upgrading.

“You asked for it” Stainless Steel – Man of Steel

A few years ago Stanley Pleskin demonstrated his strength by holding two ropes while two C152’s or C172’s while the engines were running at full power, pulling in opposite directions.  Within one week 39N was in The New York Times, The Enquirer, and TV’s Special Edition within the same week.

Once again Stanley will demonstrate his natural strength for the upcoming NBC show, “You Asked For It”, Sunday, 8:00 p.m. in August or September.  He lifts up a car and bends a penny too.  Watch it – you will see some local stars – Dick, Chuck, Chris, and Stosh, any one else who didn’t have to work on that Friday. (See our web site.)

Due to the good economy it has become very difficult to attract qualified staff.  We will rise our rental rates $2/hour for 2 place planes and $3/hour for 4 place planes.  Hopefully this will ease the problem.

The Seminole rates are now $155/hour, or if you pre-pay cash or check a block of 10 hours, it will be only $135/hour.

Effective 8/1/99
