WE WON!!!

Your out pouring of letters opposing the termination of the DME/GPS approach evidently worked.  We have received notice that the proposal has been withdrawn.  Many thanks.

Welcome New Tie-Downs:

Bob Bauer, who returned to flying after 30 years, finally got refreshed and became a happy owner of a Cherokee.  Bob flew from the former Hadley Airport in South Plainfield, which closed in '68.

And a Hearty Welcome to John Jones and your Piper Archer.

News From Alumnae:

Tim Pollio, former student/flight coordinator in the late '80s went into the Air Force & flew F-16s.  He is now getting out of the military; has a wife and a little one on the way.

Mohamed Elbeheri's father brought him from Egypt, entrusting us to get him a Private, IRA, Commercial & Dispatcher exam ASAP.  Starting in July, Mohamed got off to a slow start.  By early December the mission we accomplished.     He is now married, expecting his first child, and flies the Airbus for Egypt Air.  The whole family stopped by to say "Hi and thanks."

Steve Menand flew over 39N while sitting right seat for Allegheny and noticed our construction.  He also works with Ed Cashen, who instructed with us at Kupper in the early '70s.  Ed is about to retire.  As Ed about the infamous flight with Dick to the Carolinas.

Eastern Standard Time

Turn those clocks back on October 31 at 2:00 AM1  Remember, Fall Behind (Only 150+/- 'til Daylights Savings Time.)

Welcome New Staff;

Former Flight Coordinator, Jeff Wilman, has transitioned to full time Flight Instructor.  He worked all summer while preparing for his CFI check-ride.  Joining Jeff is Kris "John" Caldwell, who recently moved to this area seeking a CFI ticket and a job.  He attained both and we welcome him aboard.  And then we have added part-timer, CFII Bill Douglas, who flies commercially every other week, so he will help out here on the alternate week.  With these three CFIs we will finally be able to accommodate you, who have been patiently waiting to get on the schedule.  Call the office if you are in need of an instructor.  Welcome aboard, Steve Giordano, who is working as a flight coordinator while pursuing his advanced ratings.

Private Pilot Ground School started on September 23.  After almost 30 people indicated interest in a class, we began, however the attendance is very low.  We will not be running another class soon, so if you need help, join in today.  We will pro-rate the fee.  You should have the knowledge test done before the holidays.

Candy Corn Contest:

Guess the number of corn kernels in he jar of candy corn.  The winner will get a $50 gift certificate for the Pilot Shoppe.  One entry per person.  So get out slide rules and make your entry.

Attention Airplane Owners:

Raritan Valley Flying School (RVFS) and Princeton Air Corporation (PAC) are two separate companies.  RVFS provides flight training, fuel and pilot supplies.  PAC provides maintenance, tie-downs, and hangers.  Please don't combine your payments.

FYI:

All charts, sectionals, low enroutes, facility directories, etc. have increased effective October 1, 1999, anywhere from 15 to 25 cents.

Get Well Soon, Harold Herzig!  We told you it is safer to stay in an airplane then to jump out.  Speedy Recovery.

News from the Princeton Airport's Flying Tigers:

21 members enjoyed a delicious buffet at Cafe Graziella in September.  The nominating committee was appointed to pick a slate to be voted on November 10th meeting.  12 member and geusts were treated to a CAVU day (finally!) for a great flight to Martha's Vineyard.  The club members ate well at the Seafood shanty.

Next Fly-In:  Sunday, October 17, Tangier Island, VA (TGI - 167 nm).  ETA 11:00 am.  Fly back to a simpler time and good crabs.

With the days getting shorter there is far more demand for planes and instructors.  We ask for you cooperation to help everyone get his/her fair share.  You must notify us 24 hours prior to your scheduled flight otherwise you will be charged a $15/hour late cancellation fee for the airplane and/or instructor.  Of course this does not apply to inclement weather.

Columbus Day Special:  Tuesday, October 12th 10% discount on all purchases, rentals, instruction, etc!  Enjoy.

Congratulations to Debbie 7 Larry Ottenburg who were married in August.  If you recall, Larry proposed via a banner towed over the Statue of Liberty while he was flying Debbie in his Tiger.

Multi-Engine Rating!!!

Whether you need multi time or want to try something exciting.  We have the plane; we have MEIs.  We need you!

LightSPEED 25XL Is In Stock:

This much touted, long in coming, headset has finally arrived.
