New Assistant Chief Pilot !

Princeton Airport's Flying Tigers

19 members enjoyed good food and drink at the 11/9 meeting at the Winepress.  During the meeting elections for officers for the next two years were held.  Lou Guazzelli was elected president; Steve Anasiewicz as vice-president, Larry West as secretary, and Dick Nierenberg as treasurer once again.

Larry West, outgoing PAFT president, would like to thank all those members who participated in the meeting and fly-ins (despite many weather problems), and wishes everyone a happy holiday season.

Editor's Note:    Thank you, Larry, for a fine job.  Speedy recovery from your hip operation.

Santa:

    39N 12.24.1999 11am He's coming.

For information check November's Newsletter or call the office.  Volunteers needed to dispense cookies & cocoa

Holiday Schedule:    Christmas & New Year's Day - CLOSED   Call ahead if you need fuel.

Note From Maintenance:    Please tie down the airplanes after each flight - and use the standard tie down knot.  The fancy ones tend to freeze in the cold weather and its hard to untie.  Please help.

Runway Construction:    Keep your proficiency for our runway in use.  Construction of the new one has been shut down until spring.  The old adage of "Good things take time." sure is apropos.

Has the weather interfered with your flying plans in 1999

From one year to the next we don't know how the weather will impact on our flying.  Certainly 1999's weather has been notable - hurricanes, floods, drought, heat, fog, and rain.  With all of this some of you have been trying to complete your training, despite the odds.  This past month was a looser with the number of you tasting completion.  We still have no recourse for the weather, so hang in there!  Your day will come, and ours too.

Remember the jar of candy corn?  Well, there were 3551 kernels, and the winner was Dave Randolph who flies out of Morristown Airport.

Video Renters:

Because some people have abused the current rental policy of videos, we are going to charge $2/day with no leniency because we are missing quite a few.  The videos are essential to keeping the students up to date with the latest information, even after the texts have been revised.  We will be charging heavy fees for late returns.  For those that are missing, you will be charge the cost of replacement, which is substantial.  We'll grant an amnesty period until 12/15.  Sneak in at night and put them through the letter slot.  Start off the new year in good standing.  Please cooperate.

Holiday Ideas???

You name it, the Pilot Shoppe has it!  We have baby gifts for those offspring of pilots; bomber jackets for kids from size 2 - 48; over two dozen different ties; t-shirts & sweat shirts with airplanes; and caps with Cessna's to Mustangs.  The are cheap models and more detailed models of mahogany; chess set with the vintage planes from Allied Forces and the German squadron; there are pewter models; jewelry and Women Fly items; GPSs, hand held transceivers, headsets from $99 to ANRs; flight cases; kneeboards; books; weather stations; lamps; throws; pillows; and there is always a gift certificate for Introductory Flying Lessons and extra flying.
