Congratulations

1st Solos

Sarah Hand / David Walkiewicz
Joseph Tucker / Chuck Taylor

We all remember the challenge we encountered on the way to our first solo flight. Joe Tucker worked ever so hard to learn how to use hand controls. On the afternoon of November 28th, Joe successfully completed his 1st solo. Diligence, made this effort all the more special to Joe, his instructor, Chuck Taylor and good old Dad. Well done, guys!

TO: My Pilot

Garmin 430s, 295s, 92s, and more. New & used avionics. What more could your pilot want - an avionics upgrade.

See Ken - He will contact Santa.

With the return of Eastern Standard Time there is a lot of competition for the few daylight hours. Please be considerate by being on time and cancel only when urgent. Only 4+ months until DST.

Congratulations to the "Quanci Gang" & Peter Rafle, who are hopping around in the sky in a brand new American Champion, Explorer. Oh, those 45 additional horses sure do make a difference!

On Saturday, November 4th, Bryan Boyle took Brenda Lewis, Doug Fritz' widow, flying the "DFRTZ intersection". Brenda was accompanied by her daughter, whose son wanted her to take a picture of the place named after "Umpah". She got that "spot" in the sky. Bryan also presented Brenda with a plaque with the approach plate and an inscription.

Thanks, Bryan - a fitting rememberance.

Our sympathy to the family of Donald Paszamant, long time pilot, who recently died.

Good New from Texas

Former flight instructor, Gordon Tillson, has been hired by Continental Express. Good Luck.

A Note from France

Former flight instructor, Mohammed Moussa, e-mailed November 8 to advise us to take him off the singles' list as he had just gotten married. He also offered to be president and his new wife was willing to server as first lady.

Rush Holt Wins!

On the Saturday before election day a rally was held at the airport for Congressman Rush Holt. Congressman Patrick Kennedy flew in from RI and together they addressed the crowd.

Our support for Mr. Holt was sincere, and it was also a very strong effort to stop Dick Zimmer from returning to Congress.

When Rush came to the airport he shook our hands and reminded us that he took flying lessons back in the mid '80s. It must have been when we were running two airports as I have no recollection of it, but we were very pleased to know that aviation is not his enemy. Unfortunately, time prohibits him from continuing now. He is a friend of airports and aviation!

That same weekend, Zimmer sent out a flyer which claimed, "Dick Zimmer has a proven record fighting aircraft noise and airport expansion". We know first-hand Zimmer's wrath when it comes to airports and aviation. By contrast to Holt, Zimmer is no friend of aviation.
